Curriculum

(last update: September 2024)

I am an Assistant Professor in Economics at the Sapienza University of Rome (Department of Juridical and Economic Studies). Prior to that, I worked at the University of Naples 'Federico II' (Department of Economics, Management and Institutions) as an Assistant Professor in Economic Policy, at the Freie Universität of Berlin as a Visiting Professor in the fields of Political Economy and Economic Policy, and at the Roma Tre University (Department of Economics) as a post-doctoral researcher and teaching assistant in Microeconomics and Economic Policy.

I am an applied economist. Most of my research can be traced back to two fields of investigation. The first relates to the determinants of the main macroeconomic outcomes (e.g., output, inflation, employment, productivity and income distribution) at the country and regional level. The second is concerned with the broad sphere of economic policy, and in particular with international trade, welfare models, inequality and the labour market. In addition to publishing my contributions in peer-reviewed academic journals, I was also involved in drafting institutional reports on the Italian economy (INPS - National Social Security Institute, and Presidency of the Council of Ministers - Department for Regional Affairs). I took part in different research projects admitted for funding. I regularly participate in academic conferences and events as a speaker and/or lecturer, and I act as a referee for many research journals. I also have experience in supervising Master degree students and PhD candidates. I obtained the scientific habilitation (Italian ASN) as an Associate Professor in the fields of Political Economy (13/A1, November 2020), Economic Policy (13/A2, November 2020) and Applied Economics (13/A4, January 2022).
